NSW engages CBN on next phase of trade facilitation reforms
The National Single Window (NSW) Secretariat held a strategic engagement meeting with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on 1 June 2026 at the Bank’s headquarters in Abuja to provide update on the implementation of the National Single Window and discuss the next phase of integration involving Form NCX/NXP processes and Authorised Dealer Banks (ADBs).
During the engagement, the NSW Secretariat provided an update on key project milestones, platform capabilities, and planned activities to support the expansion of the project. Discussions focused on critical areas including data governance, management of legacy data, integration with existing CBN systems, operational support for trade-related workflows, and regulatory communication with banks. The CBN highlighted the importance of establishing a robust data governance framework, maintaining operational continuity through system integration, and ensuring clear accountability for trade-related directives and guidance issued to financial institutions.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to align on the operational, technical, legal, and regulatory considerations required for successful collaboration. The CBN Governor expressed support for the National Single Window project and reaffirmed the Central Bank’s commitment to working closely with the NSW Secretariat to facilitate seamless integration and enhance trade processes.
