NSW & FAAN engage stakeholders on platform adoption & new TIN requirement

A stakeholder engagement session was held in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as part of the National Single Window (NSW) initiative, with sessions conducted in April across Kano, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja, bringing together Licensed Clearing Agents, FAAN staff, and representatives from NSW/MDS. The sessions focused on sensitizing Clearing Agents on the importance of registering on the NSW platform and communicating a key compliance requirement that, effective May 1, 2026, a Tax Identification Number (TIN) must be provided before FAAN can issue invoices. Discussions covered the NSW Go-Live, platform overview, changes for traders, post go-live support mechanisms, trader and agent processes, frequently asked questions, and help desk information. Participants actively engaged in the sessions, raising questions on how operations with FAAN will function under the NSW framework, payment processes, system reliability during network downtime, collaboration for training and adoption, payment confirmation, integration with platforms such as Remita, efficiency in invoice generation, and accountability mechanisms to prevent delays in LPCO processing.
